The Love Painting Foundation was created from a simple belief: creativity can open doors for young people.
What began through founder Tanae Guerrant’s work creating collaborative murals with students grew into a larger vision. While working alongside young people, Tanae saw that the experience was about much more than painting a wall. Art created opportunities for mentorship, confidence, connection, responsibility and exposure to possibilities beyond the classroom.
The Love Painting Foundation was created to build on those experiences and make them available to more young people throughout Philadelphia.
Our Mission
The Love Painting Foundation creates opportunities for young people to explore their creativity, build confidence and expand their vision for the future through arts education, mentorship, meaningful experiences and community connection.
Through school and community partnerships, collaborative public art, Creative Futures and accessible arts programming, we work to ensure that young people have opportunities not only to create, but to learn, grow, lead and discover new possibilities.
Meet the Founder
Tanaé Guerrant
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Tanae Guerrant is a Philadelphia-based visual artist, muralist and entrepreneur whose work has increasingly centered on using art to connect with and create opportunities for young people.
Her experience working alongside students on collaborative school murals helped inspire The Love Painting Foundation. What began as an opportunity to create art together became something much bigger. Tanae saw how the creative process could build confidence, strengthen relationships, encourage responsibility and give young people a sense of pride and ownership in what they created.
Those experiences shaped her vision for a foundation that goes beyond teaching art. Through The Love Painting Foundation, Tanae hopes to expose young people to new experiences, creative careers, mentorship, travel, culture and opportunities they may not otherwise encounter.
Her goal is simple: use creativity as a starting point to help young people see more possibilities for themselves and their futures.
